The Priest Who Never Clocks Out (Hebrews 7)

Your favorite pastor announces retirement. The church scrambles. You wonder, “Who will pray for me now?” Hebrews chapter seven smiles and says, “Jesus already has the job. And He is never leaving.”

“But this man, because he continues forever, has a permanent priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.” (Hebrews 7:24-25 NIV)

Permanent. Completely. Always. Three words that change everything.

Levite priests died. New ones stepped up. The cycle never ended. Jesus broke it. One Priest. One sacrifice. One forever. No successors needed. No resume updates. He is on duty right now, speaking your name in heaven.

Melchizedek shows up in Genesis 14, centuries before Moses. Abraham hands him a tenth of everything. No command. Just gratitude. The point? Giving is not a tax. It is worship. Jesus receives your gifts the same way: not because He needs cash, but because open hands prove open hearts.

Verse twenty-two seals it: “Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant.”
Old deal: Do this, live. Break it, die.
New deal: Jesus did it. You live.
Your failures do not void the contract. His blood signed it in permanent ink.

Pray like Jesus is right now praying for you. Because He is.
Try this: “Jesus, I know You are speaking to the Father about [name your need]. Thank You for never clocking out.”
Say it out loud. Feel the weight lift.
